Below is an excerpt from the list of licensed facilities published by the Department of
Health.
Residential Care and Assisted Living (RC/AL) facilities admit residents according to
the level of services for which they are licensed. All RC/AL facilities must have
both a licensed level F (Fire) and a licensed level M (Medication) classification.
These levels are as follows.
Level F1 licensure: for residents who are not capable of self preservation
in an emergency. Since these residents may not have the physical mobility or
judgemental ability to take appropriate action in emergency situations, a more stringent
state fire code is required at this level.
Level F2 licensure: for residents who are capable of self preservation in
an emergency.
Level M1 licensure: for residents who require someone to administer their
medication to them.
Level M2 licensure: for residents who can self-administer medications or
may only require simple assistance such as reminding.
